In the Tongan village, the islanders treated us to island tattoos and the kids could choose wherever they wanted them to be placed. Michael wanted his FACE!
(luckily, for moms sake, they washed off the next day!)

Christian calls his "a 'tat'".
He would walk around pulling up his shirt and pleasingly saying: "My tat, my tat".

We loved the stick game in New Zealand. This was one of our favorite islands, and a place we would like to travel to one day.

Christian joined the men as they learned a stick dance.

The kids enjoyed catching small fish in the river that runs through all of the villages.

In the Samoan village, we learned how to create fire with sticks. It was really hard!

Sampling a Samoan dish...bread fruit and some kind of leaf...fishy tasting, some of us liked it, some did not!

The Tahitian dancers were our favorite as we watched the Canoe Pageant. Lis will be taking a Polynesian Cultural Dance class at her school in 8th grade. They will be participating in an island competition at the end of the school year. Go Lis!!

Beautiful Hawaiian Katelyn!
People have commented here that she looks like Hermione Granger in Harry Potter.

Here is Kapp squeezing the coconut milk out of a coconut. What a great performance!
Steve was invited up to drink the coconut juice. He thought it was really tasty!

After the show, we took a picture with Chief Kapp. He is SO funny!

Holly with Emily-
When we go to the PCC, people just stop and look at the baby!
There aren't too many young infants we see around Hawaii, and people are quick to notice her and comment: "Oh she's so little, she's so alert...look she's smiling!!" She is pretty popular:)

Our favorite, and semi-affordable, family buffet has been at the BYU Hawaii cafeteria. When we visit the PCC, and need a place for dinner, the kids start chanting: "B...Y...U, B...Y...U!!!" in a goal to persuade mom and dad to stop at BYU for dinner. They are pretty persuasive too:)
Even little Christian enthusiastically joins the chant! We think Katelyn was the dinner champion with eating the main course plus SEVEN bowls of cereal! She had every kind of cereal that was there, and was in pure heaven (as we do not buy cereal here, except on rare 'splurging' times).
