SAT 8/13/11
THE DAY OF FINDING OUR NEW PIANO AND DINING ROOM TABLE...
For us, these items make a house a home.
Our first stop...The piano, in Hawaii Kai
The beautiful view from the back porch of the home where we bought our
baby grand piano. He is moving to New York and had to sell ASAP.
We are in love with it!!

The Next Stop...Dining Room Table
Ford Island in Pearl Harbor. The owner of the table was a wonderful lady named Gina who is a lieutenant in the Navy, working as a chaplain. Not everyone can go into Ford Island, so she had to personally escort us onto the Naval base.
The USS Utah Memorial ship was right outside her front door! This ship was hit and sunk when Pearl Harbor was attacked. We couldn't believe this was our Utah ship...right here.

In the attack of Pearl Harbor, a row of homes was not bombed and they were left standing. Gina's house is one of those homes that wasn't harmed in the assault. (the homes right behind the palm trees). There was such a strong feeling of solemn sacredness in this area. It was very touching & memorable to be there.

USS UTAH MEMORIAL

Bringing in the piano to our Mililani home. We hired movers to pick up and deliver our new piano and dining room table set. Whew! They did it so smoothly.

8/13/2011 Our new front room! We finally have a family dining room table and a piano (both of which we had to leave on the mainland), and both delivered on the same day.
Now, it feels like home!
(Below) Our family room next to the kitchen. Jake and Steve LOVE reading!
Katelyn came running inside: "Where's the camera! The sunset is beautiful!!" She was right!
Today was a full day of 'someone' playing the piano. It felt like 'Home' once again!! Lovely Lis practicing after not having a piano for 2 months. We all feel so blessed to have found this particular piano and to have music back in the home!
